Fort Michilimackinac (2) (1715-1781) - This French fort was built to protect the straights of Mackinac and serve as a fur trading post. Later it came into the hands of the British.
Fort Michilimackinac (2) History
After being determined to be to vulnerable to attack, Fort Mackinac was built on Mackinac Island.
Current Status
Restored to how it was in the 1700's.
