Fort Frederick (3)
Fort Frederick (3) (1812-1870) - First established in 1812 on Point Frederick in Kingston Harbor, Onterio, Canada. Named for General Sir Frederick Haldimand, Governor of Canada (1777-1786). Abandoned in 1870 as a fortification.
Current Status
On the grounds of the Royal Military College of Canada, Onterio, Canada. The later works including the Fort Frederick Tower remain and several guns are mounted in the tower and on the earthworks. The Fort Frederick Tower houses the Royal Military College Museum and has excellent collections of artifacts and armament. Open to the public.
