Fort Eustis (1918-Present) - First established in 1918 as Camp Eustis. Named after BG Abraham Eustis, first commander of Fort Monroe. Renamed Fort Eustis in 1923. Active military Installation.

Fort Eustis History

Established during World War II as a training and embarkation point for soldiers heading for the front in Europe.

Current Status

Active military installation.
