Battery Parapet (1898-1915) - Battery Parapet was an, Endicott Period 8 inch coastal gun battery mounted on the parapet of old Fort Monroe, Hampton City, Virginia. Battery transferred to the Coast Artillery for use 1 Nov 1898 at a cost of $ 1,611.39. Deactivated in 1915.
Originally built as an Endicott Period coastal gun battery with four 8" M1888 guns mounted on M1892 Barbette carriages mounted on the parapet of old Fort Monroe. No magazine was furnished. Only two guns were shown as mounted.
