McCabe on 18 Jun 1953. The State of Massachusetts acquired the property from subsequent owners on 19 April 1973 for use as part of the state park system.

Outer Brewster Island Military Reservation (1913-1947) - A World War I Coastal Military Reservation first established on Outer Brewster Island, Suffolk County, Massachusetts in 1913. Named Outer Brewster Island Military Reservation in G.O. 6, 1937. Deactivated in 1947.

World War I (1917-1918)

Part of the Harbor Defense of Boston, Massachusetts.

All 17.5 acres of Outer Brewster Island were acquired by the U.S. Government from a Benjamin Dean on 12 Jun 1913 for the sum of $ 2,900.
