Oceana NAS Radar Site (1980-Active) - A Joint Use Radar Site first established in 1980 on Oceana Naval Air Station (NAS), Virginia Beach City, Virginia. Initially assigned a SAGE ID of Z-321, a JSS ID of J-01 an and a FAA ID of QVR. Active joint use (USAF/USN/FAA) Radar Site. HistoryThis site became a USN/USAF//FAA joint-use site in 1980, furnishing radar track data to the FAA, USAF, and USN. The radar site data is now available to the USAF/NORAD Battle Control System-Fixed (BCS-F) operations centers (EADS & WADS) as well as the FAA Washington DC ARTCC (ZDC) and adjacent ARTCCs. Other federal agencies have access to the data under the Homeland Security umbrella.
Current StatusActive facility on Oceana NAS, Virginia Beach City, Virginia.
