Fort Fraser (1) (1837-1838) - A U.S. Army post established in 1837 by Lieutenant Colonel William S. Foster, 4th U.S. Infantry, in Polk County, Florida. Named for Captain Upton S. Fraser, who was killed in the Dade Massacre, 28 Dec 1835. Abandoned in 1838.
