Fort Toulouse (1) (1717-1763, 1814-1819) - A French Colonial Fort first established as Fort Tolouse in 1717 in present day Elmore County, Alabama. Abandoned by the French in 1763. Reestablished as Fort Jackson by Americans in 1814 during the War of 1812. Abandoned in 1819.
