Fort Bute (1766-1779) - A colonial fort built by the British in 1766 to protect the confluence of Bayou Manchac with the Mississippi. It fell to the Spanish on 7 Sep 1779 in the first Spanish action against the British during the American Revolutionary War. (Later history of the fort?) Current StatusUnknown
