Battery Saffold (1898-1942) - Battery Saffold was a reinforced concrete Endicott Period 12" inch gun battery on Fort Winfield Scott, California. The battery was named 14 Feb 1902 after Capt. Marion B. Saffold, 13th U.S. Infantry, who was killed in action at Cavite, Island of Luzon, Philippine Islands on 8 Oct 1899.
