Fort Williams (1) (1899-1963) - An Endicott Period Coastal Fort first established in 1899 on the site of a previous fortification known as the Battery at Portland Head. Located in Cape Elizabeth, Cumberland County, Maine. Named in G.O. 71, 13 Apr 1899, after Bvt. MG Seth Williams, Assistant Adjutant General, U.S. Army. Abandoned in 1963.
