U.S. Army Military District of Washington (MDW) (1921-Present) - Originally created in 1921 as the District of Washington and originally included:
- Fort Myer, Virginia
- Fort Washington, Maryland
- Fort Hunt, Virginia
The District of Washington was deactivated in 1927.
During World War II in 1942 the district was reestablished as the U.S. Army Military District of Washington
