Battery 405 (1944-1945) - Battery 405 was a reinforced concrete, World War II 8 inch coastal gun battery on Fort Hase, Honolulu County, Hawaii. Battery construction started in early 1943, was completed in early 1944 at an estimated cost of $ 283,850. Known as Battery 405 during the war after the construction number BCN 405. After the war renamed Battery Robert E. DeMerritt by GO No. 96, 27 Aug 1946. Placed in caretaker status in 1945.
