Fort Braden (1839-1842) - A U.S. Army post established in 1839 during the Second Seminole War, by 1st Lieutenant S.B. Thorton and Company G, 2nd U.S. Dragoons]], at the present day town of Fort Braden, Leon County, Florida. Named for Virginia Baden, wife of Dr. Joseph Baden. Abandoned in 1842. Also known as Fort Virginia Braden.

Fort Braden History

A U.S. Army post established 3 Dec 1839 during the Second Seminole War by 1st Lieutenant S.B. Thorton and Compangy G, 2nd U.S. Dragoons.

The post was abandoned 7 Jun 1842 at the end of the Second Seminole War.
